WOMAN EVADES ARREST, AND IS CAUGHT WITH DRUG PARAPHENALIA IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
On April 28, 2026, Deputy Breanna Freeman of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office arrested Candice Nachea Kirby, 36, following a pursuit on Glade Creek in Crossville, Tennessee. The incident began at approximately 8:13 PM when Deputy Freeman observed Kirby operating a black four-wheeler without functional tail lights. Despite the deputy activating emergency lights and sirens, Kirby failed to stop, signaling over her shoulder instead. The pursuit ended only after the deputy maneuvered her patrol vehicle in front of the four-wheeler to block its path near a dirt trail.
Upon stopping, Kirby was reportedly combative, yelling and cursing at the officer while claiming she lacked functional brakes. Following her arrest, a search of a bag on the four-wheeler revealed drug paraphernalia, including multiple pipes with burnt residue and straws containing a white crystallized substance. Additionally, dispatch confirmed that Kirby was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license. Kirby was transported to intake and faces charges of Evading Arrest and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, with a total bond set at $12,500 and a court date scheduled for June 8, 2026.
