WOMAN JAILED FOR PUBLIC INTOXICATION
Late last night, Crossville police were sent to Miller Avenue for a report of a woman in a blue dress, “falling out into the road and singing and talking to herself.” Officers met up with 28-year-old Bessie Lynn Ellis of Crossville, who was unsteady on her feet and had extremely tiny pupils.
Officers attempted to conduct field-sobriety tests. When asked if she knew what month it was, Ellis declared it was August.
Then, when officers asked her to gauge the passage of time, she estimated six seconds to be thirty seconds.
Determined by police to be a danger to herself and others, Ellis was taken into custody for public intoxication.
