A woman has died as the result of a train crossing accident in Athens Sunday. 21-year-old Alana Jade King was attempting to drive over the tracks at Howard St. and Cook Dr. at around 4 PM when the oncoming train struck her vehicle. Not many details are known but residents of the area say that they have been trying for years to get officials to place moveable crossing barriers at the scene. Other accidents have been reported at the intersection in the past.
