WOMAN LEADS POLICE ON CHASE IN CRAB ORCHARD AND INTERSTATE 40
On May 8, 2025, at approximately 2:00 AM, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies Tyler Leary and Broderdorf encountered a black Volvo at a gas station in Crab Orchard. The driver, Bianca Kardashian Newson, and a passenger were in the vehicle. Deputies detected a marijuana odor, prompting them to ask Newson to exit the vehicle. Instead, Newson fled at high speed, nearly striking Deputy Broderdorf.
A pursuit ensued on I-40, with Newson driving recklessly at speeds up to 130 mph, nearly hitting multiple vehicles. The chase continued after Newson’s vehicle struck a ditch, causing damage, and ended when she stopped on Wheeler Lane. A felony stop was conducted, and Newson was arrested.
A search of the vehicle revealed 6.5 white oval pills (suspected Oxycodone), 2 blue hexagon pills (suspected Ecstasy), and marijuana residue. The drugs were seized as evidence.
Newson was charged with:
-
Evading Arrest (Bond: $20,000)
-
Reckless Endangerment (Bond: $10,000)
-
Two counts of Simple Possession (Bond: $2,500 each)
She was transported to Cumberland County Intake for booking, and evidence was submitted for TBI lab testing.
