A woman with ties to Crossville was stabbed to death Sunday night in Chattanooga. Authorities are charging 57-year-old Tyrone Murphy in the incident which took place just before 9 PM at a home in the 1500 block of Bailey Ave. Officers responded to the call of a deceased female and discovered the body of 30-year-old Ashley Cates dead from numerous cuts and stab wounds. Investigators were able to uncover evidence that helped lead them to Murphy, who is charged with criminal homicide and tampering with evidence.
