An unknown person broke into a Cumberland County church last weekend. Deputies say that they were informed of a door to the Woody Freewill Baptist Church being opened. When they arrived, officers found the door had been kicked in and the frame busted upon entry. Food had been scattered throughout the kitchen area and someone had taken the U.S. flag down from the altar and used it as a blanket. A small lamp was also used in the kitchen for a light source. Damage to the door was estimated at $1500 and the investigation is continuing.
