The Crossville City Council will begin looking for a new airport manager. At Tuesday's meeting, City Attorney Will Ridley brought a proposal before the council to buyout the contract of the airport's current manager, Chris Bennett. Bennett has been managing the facility since 2010 and had 3 years, 2 months left to go on the contract. The buyout cost was proposed at $50,000 with Bennett agreeing to stay on the job for 30 days until an interim or new manager is hired. In addition, the city would agree to buy an inventory of fuel onhand at $25,000. After a brief discussion, motions were made and approved to accept the proposal, purchase the fuel and make the required budget amendment. Another motion was also approved to send out RFP's (requests for proposals) for a fixed-base operator or manager of the airport.
