31ST D.A. GENERAL STANFORD TO TAKE OVER GOODWIN HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION
31st Judicial District Attorney General Chris Stanford announced today that his office has taken over the investigation of the recently charged criminal homicide of Amber Wilson Goodwin.
The alleged homicide took place on the night of January 17th in Warren County according to recent information. Currently, Nathan Allen Wilson is charged with criminal homicide, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. Currently, Wilson is under a $150,000 bail and is awaiting transport to Warren County for the conclusion of his prosecution.
Stanford said he wanted to assure the public that they are not in immediate or anticipated danger from the potential for future criminal conduct of Nathan Allen Wilson because he is expected to remain incarcerated as he makes his way back to Warren County. Once Wilson is back in Warren County, the supervising judicial commissioner for Warren County, David Williams, has determined that Wilson will be held without bail until Judge Ryan J. Moore has an opportunity to consider the statutory bond factors and a future court hearing.
Thanks to a press release by district attorney Stanford, more information regarding the incident has been made publicly available.
According to the release, on January 18th, Fentress County Sheriff’s Office detective Jerry Mifflin responded to Banner Springs Road in Jamestown in reference to a 911 call made by Joseph Wilson regarding his brother, Nathan, making statements of self-harm.
Fentress County Deputy Richard Pedigo and Detective Mifflin discovered the body of Wilson’s wife, Amber Wilson Goodwin, dead in the rear area of a Jeep Renegade. During the investigation, Wilson admitted to hitting Goodwin with a vehicle. This was confirmed via an autopsy that concluded Goodwin died of blunt force trauma consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.
