59-YEAR-OLD MAN FACES DUI AND WEAPONS CHARGES AFTER CUMBERLAND COUNTY CRASH

A 59-year-old Tennessee man is facing multiple charges following a single-vehicle crash on State Route 298 on July 18.

According to a preliminary report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), James Ramey, 59, was driving a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500 northbound on State Route 298 around 9:08 p.m. when his vehicle ran off the road. The truck entered a roadside ditch and traveled along a hillside before coming to a stop just south of Obed Pines Road.

Ramey was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained injuries in the incident. No other vehicles or passengers were involved.

Following an investigation at the scene, state troopers charged Ramey with:

  • Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

  • Failure to Exercise Due Care

  • Possession of a Firearm Under the Influence
