A Crossville man is scheduled to appear in Cumberland County General Sessions Court on July 23, 2026, facing a slew of felony drug charges and evidence tampering offenses following a pair of law enforcement encounters over the past year.

Ronald James Bittner Jr. faces six separate criminal counts arising from a narcotics search warrant executed in July 2025 and a traffic stop conducted in March 2026.

Osage Road Narcotics Search Warrant

According to court affidavits, the initial charges stem from a search warrant executed on July 31, 2025, at a residence on 6009 Osage Road by Deputy Jacob Moore of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

During the search of a bedroom shared by Bittner and a co-defendant, officers located:

• Oxycodone Hydrochloride (30 mg): 6 circular blue pills (Schedule II)

• Gabapentin (300 mg): 3 capsule pills (Schedule V)

• Suspected Methamphetamine: A plastic container with a crystal-like substance

• Suspected Marijuana: Two containers holding a green leafy substance

• Distribution Evidence: Two digital scales, a large quantity of plastic baggies, and extensive drug paraphernalia

Formal charges filed on August 4, 2025, include manufacturing, delivery, sale, or possession of Schedule II, Schedule V, Schedule VI drugs, and felony possession of methamphetamine with intent.

Tansi Traffic Stop and Concealed Evidence

Bittner was hit with additional felony charges following a late-night traffic stop on March 7, 2026. Deputy Logan Janow reported observing a red SUV fail to maintain its lane on Dunbar Road in Tansi.

After pulling the vehicle over, officers observed a cut straw with residue on the driver-side floorboard. A subsequent search revealed additional cut straws and a plastic baggie containing white crystal residue in the center console.

During the investigation, Bittner admitted to concealing a methamphetamine pipe and foil with residue inside his person to prevent officers from discovering them. He retrieved the items and handed them over to deputies, leading to charges of:

• Class C Felony Tampering with Evidence

• Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

Court Status

Bittner is represented by defense attorney Joseph Wyatt. He is set to address all six counts before the Cumberland County General Sessions Court during the July 23 docket.
