The U.S. Geological Survey says an earthquake measuring 1.5 on the Richter scale was recorded near Sweetwater at 7:01 a.m. today. The quake was registered nearly four miles west northwest of Sweetwater at depth of nearly nine miles.

No damage has been reported from the quake.
