LONG-AGO STOLEN GUN RECOVERED IN PAWN SHOP IN CROSSVILLE

Knoxville Police are looking into an alleged shootout that took place at the El Patron Event Center at the Knoxville Center Mall early Monday morning. KPD received multiple calls about gunfire in the parking lot around 3:09 AM. According to witnesses at the scene, several individuals began shooting weapons in the parking lot. Authorities recovered approximately twenty shell casings from different locations in the parking lot. No victims have been located at this time.

Crossville police learned last week a stolen gun had turned up at a local pawn shop. Upon confirming the weapon was indeed the one in question, an officer contacted police in Carmichael, Pennsylvania, who said the Derringer .357 magnum had been stolen in 1989.

The owner has been contacted about the recovery of the pistol.

The gun had been pawned April 25, 2019, by a 51-year-old Crossville woman.
