TWO FLOWN BY LIFESTAR TO HOSPITAL FOLLOWING ROCKWOOD VEHICLE ACCIDENT

Authorities released an accident report regarding a two vehicle crash in front of the Rockwood Walmart Tuesday night. Officers say a Toyota Camry driven by 57-year-old Rhonda Lynne Sheldon of Rockwood was exiting Walmart and turning onto Highway 27 when she was struck by an oncoming Chevy SUV driven by James E. Presley of Cleveland, Tennessee. Presley allegedly ran a red light when the accident happened. Presley was not hurt but two in his vehicle, 20-year-old Trenton Jones and 19-year-old Joseph Kuder, both of Deer Lodge, were both ejected. Two LifeStar helicopters landed at the scene to transport the two to an area trauma center. Sheldon was transported to Roane Medical Center for treatment. A 2-year-old in her car escaped injury. Presley was charged with failure to yield.
