BREAKING NEWS – a famous treehouse on Beehive Drive in Crossville was leveled about an hour ago by a fire. The Cumberland County Fire Department told 105.7 News that it only took a matter of around 10 to 15 minutes for the structure to come down. Officials say dry conditions inside the treehouse helped the fire to spread fast. The treehouse was built by Horace Burgess starting back in 1999 and took a decade to finish. It became a tourist attraction and was known as the “world’s largest treehouse.” A cause of the fire is under investigation. This is a breaking news story and more information will be released at a later time.
