A two vehicle accident in northern Cumberland County late yesterday sent two adults and two children to the hospital. Trooper Bobby Barker says a 1980 Isuzu pickup driven by 29-year-old Ralph Phy of Crossville crossed the center line on Highway 127 North at Catoosa Ridge and sideswiped an oncoming 2018 Ford F-150 operated by 35-year-old Nicole Whittenburg of Crossville. Phy, Whittenburg and two children in the Ford, a 2-year-old and a 5-month-old, were all transported to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries or evaluations. Phy was charged with driving on the wrong side of the road. An 8-year-old in the Isuzu and another passenger in the Ford, 68-year-old Delta Crabtree, were not injured. All adults involved were restrained and the minors were properly secured in child car seats at the time of the accident.
