VOLUNTEER ELECTRIC CREWS WORKING AS HARD AS THEY CAN TO RESTORE POWER TO STORM DAMAGED COUNTIES – 5 P.M. UPDATE

OVER 1200 WITHOUT POWER IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

As of 5 p.m. central time today (Sunday, March 29, 2020), Volunteer Electric is reporting below 9,000 members total in the area without power. Crews are working through the damage and will continue until everyone’s power is restored. There are more than 50 broke poles as well as lines down. At this time, Volunteer Electric does not have a specific estimated time of restoration but it will be late tonight or early tomorrow morning before everyone’s power is back on.

As of 5 p.m. central time, the following customers remain without power:

CUMBERLAND COUNTY – 2,900 customers

RHEA COUNTY – 1,196 customers

WHITE COUNTY – 966

ROANE COUNTY – 436 customers

BLEDSOE COUNTY – 440 customers

MCMINN COUNTY – 291 customers
