TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF JOHNSON ON A DRUG CHARGE IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY

A Cumberland County deputy stopped a driver on Hillbilly Hollow Road yesterday for a registration violation. The officer asked for the driver’s license of 35-year-old Samuel Brock Johnson of Crossville, who handed the deputy a Tennessee identification only. A K-9 officer alerted the deputy of the odor of illegal drugs in the vehicle and a check of Johnson revealed he had an active warrant in Cumberland County. While on the way to jail, Johnson told the officer he allegedly had drugs hidden on him and pulled out a bag containing a substance believed to be meth from his crotch area. Johnson was charged with possession of a Schedule II drug (meth).
