Nashville Metro Police says an arrest has been made in the murder of Saint Thomas West nurse Caitlyn Kaufman. Devaunte Lewis Hill, age 21, was taken into custody this morning by SWAT team members at an apartment in East Nashville. He is being charged with criminal homicide. Hill reportedly admitted after his arrest his involvement in the murder.

A citizen came forward yesterday and told law enforcement about Hill and where to find the gun allegedly used in the shooting. It is not believed that Hill knew Kaufman.

Kaufman, a nurse at Saint Thomas West Hospital, was shot and killed December 3 on Interstate 440 while she was on her way to work.

The case remains under investigation.
