UPDATE – 4:35 p.m. central – Sheriff Casey Cox just confirmed deputies located Norris on Old Highway 70 and took him into custody without incident. 

(PREVIOUS STORY) – The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Department had an inmate run away from a work crew this afternoon in the area of Pomona Road and Highway 70 (Sparta Highway). 54-year-old Michael Eugene Norris stands 5’9, and weighs 185 pounds. He has brown hair, blue eyes and has a mustache, He was wearing brown jail clothes. If you see this subject call 911 immediately. Norris has an arrest record for drug offenses in the county.
