MALE SUBJECT CHARGED AFTER FOUND PASSED OUT BEHIND WHEEL AT GAS PUMPS
On Saturday, Crossville city officers responded to Buccee’s gas station for a male subject passed out at the wheel of a Kia Sedona at a gas pump. The Cumberland County Sheriff’s deputies were already on the scene and advised the officer that the subject woke up and allegedly admitted he had been drinking the night before and also had smoked meth.
The driver was identified as 37-year-old Joshua Brewer who stated that he had drunk alcohol the previous night. During a Sobriety test, Brewer had multiple attempts but allegedly could not understand the instructions or successfully complete the tests.
The city officers transported Brewer to Cumberland County jail for booking where he stated that he would agree to give a blood test. However, he then withdrew his consent. According to the report, the officer warned Brewer about an extra charge by withdrawing his agreement and he stated “That’s fine”.
A warrant was granted for the blood draw.
Joshua Brewer was charged with Driving Under the Influence 2nd Offense, Driving on Revoked, and the Violation of Implied Consent.
