FEMALE EVADES COPS AFTER FIGHT AT DOLLAR GENERAL MARKET IN CROSSVILLE

On March 25, 2023, Crossville police were dispatched to the Dollar General Market for a physical fight between two females. Before arrival, the caller stated the other female who struck her left in a truck on Miller Ave. One of the dispatched officers observed the truck traveling at a high rate of speed toward West Ave. The officer initiated their emergency lights and sirens as the driver of the truck continued to flee from the officer down Tenth Street and onto Deerfield Road while proceeding through stop signs at a high rate of speed and passing vehicles in the wrong lane of travel. The vehicle finally came to a stop at the intersection of Deerfield Road and Iris Circle.

The officer commanded the female to exit the vehicle and she complied. He then placed a female driver identified as 30-year-old Angelina May in handcuffs.

The officer then spoke with Angelina May regarding the incident at Dollar General Market. She stated the female she fought with was “running her mouth and cussing her”. She stated the female then got in her face and slapped her. Angelina then stated she hit her back and the other female ripped her shirt off, so she left. An officer was on scene at Dollar General and advised there were no camera’s facing the parking lot and further stated there were also no witnesses on the scene.

The officer explained to Ms. May the civil process of obtaining a criminal summons regarding the simple assault that occurred outside the officer’s presence and then advised that she was under arrest for evading and transported her to intake for booking.
