Numerous VEC customers lost power yesterday afternoon after a motorist left the 3700th block of Highway 70 East near Highland Lane and crashed into a power pole.

Authorities did not initially say if the driver sustained injuries in the accident.

VEC crews worked to replace the pole and reattach power lines after the vehicle was towed from the scene.
