WIFE OF MAN CHARGED WITH MURDER ARRESTED FOR ACCESSORY

MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. (WVLT) – The wife of a man accused in a Monroe County murder has been arrested, according to an arrest warrant obtained by WVLT News.
Nicholas Wayne Hamlett made headlines after he was accused of murdering 34-year-old Steven Douglas Lloyd, making a fake call to 911 claiming he was a distressed hiker, then fleeing the state.
Hamlett was taken into custody on Sunday, and now we know his wife is also facing charges.
According to the warrant, Taylor Ann Fiber is accused of lying to police, saying Hamlett, who was going by a fake identity, was the brother of the “hiker” who called 911.
This was untrue, the warrant said, adding that she knew Hamlett’s true identity. The warrant also said that Fiber had bought Hamlett a Greyhound bus ticket from Knoxville to Columbia, South Carolina so he could flee the state.
On top of all this, officers also said Fiber had bought camping supplies for Hamlett while he was in hiding and warned him that law enforcement was on the lookout for him.
Since Hamlett’s capture, there hasn’t been much in the way of additional details. He was extradited back to Tennessee early Friday morning, and the sheriff’s office is expected to provide an update Friday afternoon.
