CROSSVILLE PROCLAIMS JUNE AS HOME OWNERSHIP MONTH

Crossville has proclaimed June as National Homeownership Month, as announced by Mayor Pro-Tem Art Gernt on June 5. The city recognizes homeownership as a key part of the American Dream, promoting stability, generational wealth, and community connections.
The proclamation emphasizes the importance of making homeownership accessible to all residents, encouraging support for affordable housing initiatives to enhance individual and community well-being.
The Proclamation reads:
“WHEREAS, the City of Crossville recognizes that homeownership is a cornerstone of the American Dream, offering stability, security, and a vital pathway to personal and community prosperity; and
WHEREAS, homeownership provides families with the profound opportunity to build generational wealth, offering a tangible asset that can grow in value and be passed down, securing financial futures for generations to come; and
WHEREAS, beyond financial benefits, owning a home creates a unique environment for families to build lasting memories, foster community connections, and establish roots within their neighborhoods and the greater City of Crossville; and
WHEREAS, it is essential to raise awareness about the numerous benefits associated with owning a home and to highlight the critical importance of fostering environments where homeownership opportunities are more attainable for all Americans, including the residents of Crossville; and
WHEREAS, every family, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves the opportunity to experience the significant advantages and personal fulfillment that come with owning a home;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED by the City of Crossville, Tennessee, that the month of June 2025 shall be observed as NATIONAL HOMEOWNERSHIP MONTH
In the City of Crossville, we encourage all residents to acknowledge the profound impact of homeownership on individual lives and community well-being, and to support efforts that expand access to safe, affordable housing options for all who wish to call Crossville home.”
