11-YEAR-OLD GIRL FACES CLOSED JUVENILE HEARING FOR ALLEGED KNIFE ASSAULT
Ninth District Attorney General Russell Johnson reports that the 11-year-old female student who allegedly assaulted another student with a knife at Morgan County Middle School on Tuesday appeared in a closed juvenile court hearing Thursday.
The suspect was taken into custody after an approximately two-hour search of the school grounds following the incident, arrested on a juvenile petition charging aggravated assault, and ordered detained by Morgan County Juvenile Court Judge Anthony Rogers pending further proceedings.
Due to the juvenile’s age, the hearing was closed to the media and the public.
