ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT AT 6
The Rockwood City Council will hold its regular fourth Monday meeting this Monday, February 23, at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.
Under old business, the agenda includes the second reading and public hearing on an ordinance amendment to increase the court fee by $5 for violations of the hands-free law in city court.
Under new business, the council will consider several resolutions, including one establishing payments in lieu of taxes for the Rockwood Electric Utility and a similar resolution for the Rockwood Water and Natural Gas systems. As tax-exempt entities, these utilities pay the city a calculated annual amount in lieu of property taxes.
Additional resolutions include authorizing the transfer of a portion of the general fund to the local government investment pool from First Financial Bank, approving the submission of a 2026 Community Development Block Grant program application, and initiating the application process for an ARC Regional Commission grant to fund improvements at Tom For the Park.
These are among the key items the Rockwood City Council will review and possibly act on during the meeting. The public is always welcome to attend and may address the council regarding any item related to city government.
