CROSSVILLE POLICE ARREST REGISTERED SEX OFFENDER FROM OHIO

On April 17, 2026, the Crossville Police Department responded to a call regarding Vincent Lane Brokaw Jr., who was reportedly sitting on the lawn of the Cumberland County Clerk’s office after a request was made to ban him from an apartment at Creekwood. Upon making contact, officers verified through dispatch that Mr. Brokaw was a registered sex offender out of Ohio. During the investigation, Mr. Brokaw admitted to staying at the Creekwood address for approximately one week, incorrectly claiming he believed he had ten days to register his presence in the area.

Patrolman Park informed the suspect that Tennessee law requires registration within 48 hours. After consulting with a Sergeant in Ohio, who confirmed that Mr. Brokaw was in violation of his registry terms by leaving the state, local authorities placed him under arrest. He was charged with Violation of the Sex Offender Registry and transported to intake for booking. The case was cleared by arrest and officially approved by the department on April 18, 2026.
