Authorities in Roane County, Tennessee, are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday following an altercation between two men. The incident took place on Spears Road, near the east end of Poplar Springs Road, leaving one man dead.

While one person has been detained in connection with the shooting, officials with the Roane County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney General’s staff have not yet released the identities of either the victim or the individual in custody. The investigation remains active, and no charges have been announced at this time.
