HARRIMAN CITY COUNCIL TO MEET ON TUESDAY
The City of Harriman City Council is scheduled to meet on June 16, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. at the 408 N. Roane St. Plaza, with a workshop to follow the main meeting. The session will open with a prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by a roll call, the approval or correction of the June 2, 2026 minutes, and authorization to pay the city’s bills. After hearing from delegations and receiving citizen comments, the council will review reports from both the Treasurer and the City Attorney.
Under new business, the council will discuss and consider several key financial and operational items. These include approving a $5,000 budgeted contribution to the Cornstalk Heights Historic Community Organization (CHHCO) and evaluating a proposal from the Harriman Utility Board (HUB) to provide fiber internet services to the Harriman Municipal Building and various auxiliary city facilities.
Additionally, they will consider allocating up to $300,000.00 from the Capital Projects fund into a 6-month certificate of deposit (CD) with One Bank. Finally, the council will discuss and potentially approve the first reading of Ordinance 0626-01, which amends the annual budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2026, before moving to adjournment.
