MOTION FILED TO REVOKE RILEY PAWLICK’S BOND
On Monday afternoon, 9th District Attorney Russell Johnson announced that a motion has been filed to revoke the bond of 17-year-old Riley Pawlick in Roane County. Pawlick, who was previously on supervised release awaiting trial as an adult for the August 2025 second-degree murder of 18-year-old Holden Howse at a car wash in Harriman, now faces new felony charges following a high-speed police chase on Saturday evening.
According to Tennessee Highway Patrol and court records, a trooper initially pulled Pawlick over on westbound I-40 near Campbell Station Road for driving a black Camaro at 90 mph in a 65 mph zone. During the stop on the left shoulder, Pawlick informed the trooper of his murder bond, admitted to smoking marijuana earlier that day, and smelled of the substance.
Although Pawlick initially consented to a vehicle search, he refused to exit the Camaro and suddenly sped away from the scene. The trooper pursued Pawlick, briefly losing sight of him as he took the West Hills exit, where Pawlick crashed into another vehicle, creating a large cloud of dust and debris. Despite the crash, Pawlick continued driving down Montvue Road toward Gleason Drive. A few minutes later, deputies from the Knox County Sheriff’s Office located and detained him at a nearby apartment complex.
Pawlick, who admitted to fleeing and possessing THC vape pens, was booked into the Richard L. Bean Juvenile Service Center. He now faces additional charges in Knox County, including evading arrest with risk of death or injury, felony reckless endangerment with a vehicle, and reckless endangerment involving a deadly weapon.
