SHANNON GOSSETT FACES CHARGES IN COURT FOLLOWING CUMBERLAND COUNTY PROPERTY BURGLARY

A local man faces multiple felony charges following a spring burglary on Brandenburge Lane, according to court documents filed in Cumberland County General Sessions Court.

Shannon McVay Gossett is scheduled to appear for an arraignment on July 21, 2026, after being charged with:

  • Auto/Vehicle Burglary

  • Attempted Burglary of a Building

  • Theft of Property ($2,500 to < $10,000)

According to an affidavit of complaint filed by law enforcement, deputies responded to a property at 85 Brandenburge Lane on March 11, 2026, after a homeowner reported suspicious activity on security footage. The victim observed a male suspect entering a utility trailer and attempting to kick in the door to a nearby shop building.

After reviewing security images provided by the property owner, officers circulated the photos to local law enforcement agencies. Sergeant Jackson identified the suspect as Shannon Gossett.

Deputies subsequently located Gossett alongside an accomplice, Tammara Cook, on Sandy Creek Road.

According to the affidavit, Gossett provided a statement admitting to the theft, telling officers he stole the property to support a drug habit. Cook admitted to driving Gossett to the location and waiting in the vehicle while he loaded the stolen goods.

Sergeant Jackson successfully recovered several stolen items valued at approximately $1,500.

Official charges were filed against Gossett on June 16, 2026. Bond for his upcoming arraignment has been set at $23,000.
