On July 16, the Sparta-White County Volunteer Rescue Squad deployed its Fire Rehabilitation Unit to assist emergency crews battling a working structure fire during a period of severe regional heat.

As temperatures surged, the rehabilitation unit played a critical role alongside primary firefighting efforts, providing a dedicated space for personnel to cool down, rehydrate, and undergo medical monitoring.

The emergency response required extensive inter-agency cooperation, drawing firefighters from across the area, including:

• Doyle Volunteer Fire Department

• Hickory Valley Volunteer Fire Department
