The National Weather Service in Nashville has issued a Flash Flood Warning for Cumberland County, southwestern Fentress County, southeastern Overton County, and southeastern Putnam County until 8:45 p.m. CDT. As of 5:34 p.m., Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall across the warned area, where 1 to 2 inches of rain have already fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or is expected to develop shortly.

Communities that may be affected include Crossville, Fairfield Glade, Monterey, Crab Orchard, Pleasant Hill, Slate Springs, Cumberland Mountain State Park, Lake Tansi, and Clarkrange. Flooding of small creeks and streams, low-lying areas, roads, highways, underpasses, and other locations with poor drainage is possible. Motorists are urged to stay aware of their surroundings and never attempt to drive across flooded roadways.
