State regulators have slapped Sharp Funeral Home of Oliver Springs with civil penalties following recent compliance and licensing infractions, according to the Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance’s latest Disciplinary Action Report. The Funeral Home was fined $1,500 on July 17, 2026, after state officials uncovered multiple violations involving preneed funeral contracts.

According to the state report, Sharp Funeral Home’s infractions included unauthorized discounts on preneed contracts, improperly completed statements, failure to refund excess funds to purchasers or estates, and missing annual preneed fund reports for 2024 and 2025. The establishment also underwent a change of ownership without submitting a mandatory independent audit report for preneed trust funds and missed a statutory deadline for submitting an insurance contract application.
