CROSSVILLE INTERSECTION CRASH SENDS TWO TO HOSPITAL AFTER STOP SIGN VIOLATION
A two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 68 and Hayes Road on Sunday evening left two people injured after a driver reportedly ran a stop sign.
The incident occurred on August 16, 2026, at approximately 6:09 PM. According to local dispatch and incident reports, a 2021 Kia Soul traveling south on Pugh Road continued straight through a stop sign, crashing into the front right side of a 2021 Toyota traveling west on State Route 68.

Vehicle 1 (Kia Soul): Driven by 19-year-old Preston Lail of Tennessee, alongside passengers John Kelly (20), Claire Buda (21), and Kane Meeks (21). All occupants were wearing seatbelts, reported no injuries, and faced no charges.

Vehicle 2 (Toyota): Driven by 26-year-old Logan Lowery, with passenger Haley Lowery (31), both of Tennessee. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts and sustained injuries requiring medical attention.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene following the 911 dispatch call. No charges have been filed in connection with the crash at this time.
