TEEN ARRESTED FOR DUI AFTER SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH ON LANTANA ROAD
A 19-year-old Crossville man faces driving under the influence charges following a late-night single-vehicle crash on Lantana Road near the city limits.
According to Crossville Police Department reports, Officer Lester responded to the crash scene at approximately 11:26 PM on August 17, 2026. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver, identified as Mason Boots, who was operating a wrecked blue Chevrolet truck.
Authorities stated that Boots exhibited signs of impairment, including an odor of alcohol on his breath, bloodshot and watery eyes, and being unsteady on his feet. Police noted that Boots initially attempted to hide behind a small crowd of bystanders and provided conflicting accounts regarding his alcohol consumption, first claiming he had consumed three beers before later stating he drank seven.
Witnesses at the scene informed officers that Boots had hidden a white crate and cooler in the nearby woods. A search of the area revealed a trail of abandoned beer and Twisted Tea containers.
Boots refused to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and Officers placed him under arrest for DUI and secured a search warrant for a blood draw. Mptl. Foster transported Boots to the emergency room for the blood draw, and the blood evidence was secured.
