CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN FACES KIDNAPPING AND AGGRAVATED ASSAULT CHARGES FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP

A local man is scheduled to appear in the Cumberland County General Sessions Court on August 27, 2026, facing felony charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault following a domestic incident reported late last week.
According to court documents and an affidavit filed by Officer Nathan Ramson, law enforcement responded to a Be On the Lookout (BOLO) alert on August 22 regarding a U-Haul vehicle and a suspected domestic dispute. Officer Ramson located the vehicle in a parking lot and conducted a traffic stop, identifying one of the two occupants as Bradley Wayne Hoffman.
The affidavit states that the victim reported being prevented from escaping, stating she had screamed for help and that Hoffman had attempted to run her over with the vehicle. She also reported being handled roughly and forcibly pulled back into the vehicle when attempting to flee.
Authorities observed visible bruising and rashes on the victim’s left arm. Furthermore, reviewing video footage of the incident, officers observed Hoffman striking the victim multiple times and vigorously pulling her back into the vehicle while it was in motion.
Hoffman, represented by the Public Defender’s office, is set to face charges for Class C Felony Kidnapping and Aggravated Assault.
