CROSSVILLE MAN ARRESTED AFTER STANDOFF WITH POLICE NEAR HOSPITAL
Crossville police responded to an apartment at 140 Hayes Street last night (Thursday, June 1, 2017) at 6:45 pm to a reported physical altercation involving a firearm. According to the police report, a woman told officers she was allegedly strangled and hit outside of the apartment by her husband, 36-year-old Brandon Tallon of Crossville. The report indicated that Tallon then allegedly loaded an AR-15 rifle and pointed at the woman and another male subject who witnessed the altercation. Tallon then went inside the apartment, slammed the door and barricaded himself inside. Officers were advised that Tallon also had a Glock pistol inside the apartment. After police attempted to contact Tallon with no success, a tactical response team was called to the scene. Just after 9 p.m. last night, Tallon came out of the apartment and surrendered to police. The female victim was transported to Cumberland Medical Center for treatment of injuries. Tallon was charged with two counts of aggravated assault and transported to the Cumberland County jail. Both the AR-15 and the Glock pistol, along with five magazines for the weapons, were seized as evidence by the Crossville Police Department.
