CUMBERLAND COUNTY PROCLAIMS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS WEEK TO COMBAT STIGMA

Cumberland County has officially designated October 4–10 as Mental Health Awareness Week, following a proclamation signed by local leadership.
The initiative aims to encourage open conversations about mental health and break down the stigma associated with seeking support. Emphasizing that mental health touches everyone—either personally or through loved ones—officials highlighted the life-changing impact of community care.
A special acknowledgment was given to the C5 Christian Counseling Center of Cumberland County for its vital role in the region. The organization provides essential services, including professional counseling, crisis support, and community education resources.
Residents are reminded that simple acts, such as checking in on a neighbor or listening to a friend, can make a profound difference. Community leaders expressed deep gratitude to C5 and all local advocates working daily to support individuals through difficult times.
