CUMBERLAND COUNTY MAN ARRESTED FOR AGGRAVATED ASSAULT AFTER ALLEGEDLY POINTING GUN AT ROOMMATE’S HEAD
Angel Aguillon Hernandez faces an aggravated assault charge in Cumberland County General Sessions Court following an early morning altercation on August 24, 2026.
According to an affidavit of complaint filed by Officer Jackie Grant, police responded to a reported physical altercation involving a firearm at 91 Yvonne Avenue. The victim stated through a translator that Hernandez woke him around 5:00 AM by banging on his bedroom door and yelling about a girlfriend.
When the victim opened the door, Hernandez allegedly pointed a firearm at his head and pulled the trigger twice, hearing it click without discharging. A physical struggle ensued, during which the victim managed to disarm Hernandez. The affidavit states that Hernandez continued to fight to regain the weapon, leaving marks on the victim’s neck and biting his hand. Hernandez then allegedly picked up a glass and pursued the victim outside, attempting to strike him over the head.
The victim and his roommates reported being in fear for their lives and safety, causing them to miss work. Hernandez is represented by the Public Defender’s office.
