TRAFFIC RESTORED AFTER SOUTHBOUND ROCKWOOD CRASH SENDS ONE TO HOSPITAL
A two-vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle snarled southbound traffic on Gateway Avenue this afternoon near the Walmart shopping center in Rockwood.
The accident took place at approximately 12:30 PM near the intersection of Tyler Point Road and Gateway Avenue when the truck struck a vehicle entering the roadway. Emergency crews responded to the scene to treat patients and manage traffic, which was partially blocked during the investigation.
At least one person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, and no serious conditions were reported for either driver. Responders from the Rockwood Police and Fire departments cleared the wreckage within 40 minutes, allowing normal traffic flow to resume. Authorities are continuing to investigate the exact cause of the crash.
