CROSSVILLE MOTORCYCLIST DIES IN FRANKLIN COUNTY, ILLINOIS CRASH

A 68-year-old man from Crossville, Tennessee, died Tuesday evening following a motorcycle crash in rural Franklin County, Illinois.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene on Yellow Banks Road following a 911 call at approximately 4:53 p.m. on September 2. Investigators determined the rider was traveling westbound when he lost control, causing the motorcycle to leave the south side of the road.
First responders requested an Air Evac Lifeteam helicopter to transport the seriously injured rider to a trauma center. Due to the severity of his condition, the flight was diverted to Franklin Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The Benton Fire Department, AMR Ambulance, and Air Evac Lifeteam assisted sheriff’s deputies at the scene. The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office and the Franklin County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate the incident.
