CUMBERLAND COUNTY BRIDGE REPLACEMENT ENTERS NEW PHASE WITH BEAM INSTALLATION
Motorists traveling through Cumberland County will soon see significant structural progress on the Highway 70 North bridge replacement project, according to an update from the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT).
Crews are preparing to install bridge beams following the demolition of the aging original structure. Progress to date includes ongoing concrete pours for the new bridge’s piers and abutments, alongside the installation of enhanced drainage systems.
The project was initiated to replace the deteriorating bridge with a modern structure. TDOT expects construction to reach completion in early 2027.
