TWO MORGAN COUNTY RESIDENTS SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR CHILD SEXUAL EXPLOITATION

Two Morgan County residents were sentenced on October 29, 2026, to 180 months in federal prison followed by 10 years of supervised release for the sexual exploitation of a minor. Darrison Randall Hood, 21, of Wartburg, and Keirsten Armanda Grace Hooper, 24, of Sunbright, were sentenced by U.S. District Judge Katherine A. Crytzer in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee. Both defendants previously pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a child and will be required to comply with Sex Offender Registry requirements upon their release.
The investigation began after a minor female victim reported receiving a Snapchat video from an unknown account showing her in an intoxicated state being sexually assaulted. According to court documents, the footage depicted Hooper assaulting the victim with a semi-automatic handgun while Hood recorded the attack. Investigators later executed a search warrant at Hood’s residence, recovering the firearm used in the crime. Hood admitted to owning the weapon, filming the assault, and distributing the video to the victim.
The case was investigated jointly by the FBI Knoxville Resident Agency, the Ninth Judicial District Task Force, and the Morgan County Sheriff’s Office. Prosecution was handled by Assistant U.S. Attorney Jennifer Kolman as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide Department of Justice initiative launched to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse.
