LAKE TANSI POLICE WARN RESIDENTS AND CONTRACTORS OVER ROADWAY PARKING HAZARDS
The Lake Tansi Police Department has issued a public reminder urging residents, visitors, contractors, and service providers to keep local roadways clear of parked vehicles and trailers.
Authorities report an uptick in vehicles left on streets, which creates safety hazards by limiting visibility, obstructing traffic flow, and potentially delaying emergency response times. Drivers are asked to utilize driveways and designated off-road parking areas for all visits and property work.
Police noted that under Tennessee Code Annotated (T.C.A.) § 39-17-307, unlawfully obstructing a roadway is a criminal offense if it renders travel impassable, unreasonably inconvenient, or hazardous. Violators may face citations and formal enforcement action. Property owners are encouraged to share the notice with guests and vendors to ensure community accessibility and safety.
