ALGOOD CITY COUNCIL WOMAN GREEN RESIGNS
An Algood City Councilwoman has resigned amid a flurry of sexual misconduct allegations involving city employees. City Officials have received Jennifer Green’s resignation. Green was one of three council members that announced a special-called meeting last month where Chief of Police Gary Harris was expected to be fired. That meeting was cancelled at the last minute. Mayor Scott Bilbrey announced then that he believed the meeting had been called in retaliation to the discipline of former police investigator Justin Medlin. Medlin allegedly had compromising photos of himself and other women on his city-issued cell phone. Allegations had also arisen concerning Medlin having had sexual contact with an unnamed city councilwoman and two female city employees, during working hours. Those employees, a city clerk and meter reader, have since been fired. A Nashville media source is saying that Medlin received a picture of Green on his city-owned phone. Medlin has since resigned. Green’s term expires in 2020 so the city council will have to appoint and then approve someone to fill her seat. Picture courtesy of Herald Citizen.
