ALLEGIANT AIR FLIGHT FORCED TO LAND AT McGHEE TYSON AIRPORT

Allegiant Air Flight 676 from Orlando, Florida, was forced to land at McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville yesterday, on its way to Flint, Michigan. The jet left Sanford International Airport around 9 a.m. and shortly before 10:30 its computer system began signaling trouble. An indicator light showed a possible fire in the cargo bay, according to Allegiant spokeswoman Krysta Levy, who indicated the flight was diverted to Knoxville out of “an abundance of caution.” There were 150 passengers and six crew on board. A new jet sent to pick up the diverted passengers arrived around 4 p.m. The flight arrived in Flint just after 6 p.m., according to media reports.
