ARMED STANDOFF IN RED BANK INVOLVING SWAT TEAM ENDS WITHOUT INCIDENT

An armed standoff in Red Bank involving a SWAT team ended peacefully. Police say that they answered a call at the Laurel Apartments for shots being fired. When they arrived they discovered an armed man who had barricaded himself into an apartment and was making threats to officers and upon himself. The suspect, who was not named, was said to have mental health issues. Negotiators were able to talk the man out of the apartment without any incident. He was transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation.
