Roane County has a new Budget Director. Longtime Anderson County accounting employee Connie Aytes was selected by the Roane County Commission Thursday night after being recommended by County Executive Ron Woody. Aytes came to Anderson County from the Tennessee Office of the Comptroller where she worked for nine years as an auditor. She began her career with Anderson County Government in 2008 and quickly became the Deputy Director of Accounts and Budgets under Director Christopher K. Phillips and also served as Budget Director when Phillips resigned during the change to the 1981 Financial Management Act.
A graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a degree in accounting and finance, Aytes is a native of Roane County. She is married to Steven Aytes and has two children: a daughter Jessie, and a son David.
