BARKING DOG THWARTS WOULD-BE THIEF IN CHATTANOOGA

Police in Chattanooga are crediting an attentive pooch with alerting her owners to an intruder in her North Chamberlain Avenue yard. According to police reports, a resident of the home found Kouto Coleman standing outside the garage Friday morning with a City of Chattanooga trash can that contained multiple car batteries. Officers also found what they determined to be burglary tools in the garbage can, along with two women’s watches. Coleman was arrested on two counts of theft and possession of burglary tools.

The Chattanooga Police Department posted a photo of the unidentified dog on Facebook, along with a recommendation that she get extra treats for her crime-fighting efforts.
